I need a universal that works with a digi cable DVR and a TV/DVD combo

I lost my remote control for my Sylvania tv/dvd combo. I have a couple old remotes in my house that I can try to program. One of them has a code search button but the other doesn't. Any help?

I have this General Electronics Remote that I have programmed to work with my TV, but I can't get it to work with the DVD player. I'm not sure what type of DVD player it is (RCA maybe?) but I would really like to get it to work.
An suggestions?
